Scott Thomas Alexander Scott (December 28, 1823 – May 21, 1881) was an American businessperson, railroad executive, and industrialist. He was the fourth president of the Pennsylvania Railroad (1874-1880), later the largest publicly traded corporation in the world. He became the U.S. Assistant Secretary of War in 1861, during the American Civil War, playing a major role in using railroads in the war effort.
